Call for applications/nominations for appointment of Director
The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati, Assamis an autonomous research institute under Department of Science and Technology, Govt.of India and is carrying out interdisciplinary and interinstitutional research work in Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Nano Sciences, Advanced Materials etc. IASST Guwahati invites applications/nominations for the post of Director.

Name of the post: Director.

Pay: Rs. 67,000/- annual increment @ 3%-79000/- with allowances as per Central Government Rules.

Tenure: 3 to 5 years or on attaining the age of superannuation as per extant Government instructions (60 years at present), whichever is earlier.

Age: Not exceeding 56 years. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be 01 January, 2012.

Qualifications:

Essential: Doctorate in Plasma and Polymer Sciences/Pure Mathematics/Statistics/ Life Sciences/Molecular Biology/Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences.

Desirable: (a) Post-Doctoral research.
(b) Original published work of high standard.
(c) Evidence of high professional eminence by way of recognitions like fellowship of academies, national/international awards in science etc.
(d) Proven record of having taken up sponsored research, guiding Ph.D. students, evidence of leadership with R&D experience.
