Call for Applications/Nominations for Appointments to the Khorana Chair

The CDFD is an autonomous institute supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, that uniquely blends basic research in the frontier areas of modern biology with the delivery of high-quality services in DNA profiling and diagnostics for human genetic disorders. The current research themes, initiated and conducted by its Faculty investigators, include computational and structural biology, genetics and epigenetics, molecular pathogenesis, cancer and stem cell biology, cell signalling, and molecular and cellular biology. The Centre also hosts an active and vibrant Ph.D. scholars program in these areas.

The CDFD has recently established two Chairs, named the Haldane Chair and the Khorana Chair, to be occupied on a full-time basis in the Centre, by exceptionally distinguished researchers/ academicians who are internationally recognized leaders in their respective fields and who would be able to develop, undertake, and superwise research and service delivery programs of excellence in the Centre. In addition, they would be expected to mentor young faculty and students in order to enhance the academic standards and achievements of CDFD. It is now proposed to fill a vacancy that has arisen for the Khorana Chair.

Applications are invited from dynamic and result oriented Engineers (Civil, Electrical & Electronics), having a minimum of 70% marks in B.Tech/B.E examinations (in respective disciplines) and Architects having a minimum of 60% marks in B.Arch from AICTE recognized Institutes/ Universities and should be a valid GATE Score holder (validity of Gate Score is two years) for filling up 25 slots of Executive Trainee. The Executive Trainees will be sponsored for one year Post Graduate Diploma Course in Metro Technology and Management by DMRC. On successful completion of the course, the Executive Trainee will be inducted in DMRC as Assistant Manager in grade Rs.20600-46500 (IDA)/- on direct recruitment basis.

Candidates are required to go to any Branch of State Bank of India and pay the amount of prescribed fees (for fee details see para “Payment of application fee” ) per post. State Bank of India (SBI) has been authorized by DMRC to collect the application fee, in a specially opened DMRC Account No. 32091518042. For payment of fees, the candidate has to approach the nearest SBI branch with a challan in triplicate (1st copy-Candidate‟s copy, 2nd DMRC copy & 3rd Bank‟s copy) downloaded from DMRC website www.delhimetrorail.com. The challan printed from the DMRC website should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting the fee amount in the allocated account. On receipt of the money, the bank will issue a unique Journal Number and a Branch code of the bank collecting the money. Candidates are required to collect the “Candidate‟s Copy” and “DMRC Copy” from the bank. They are also required to ensure that these cash receipts contain i) Journal number ii) Branch Name iii) Branch code No. iv) Date of deposit v) Amount.
