3726 of Male and 2000 Female Posts of Constable

Applications are invited from Male and female candidates for filling up of the 3726 of Male and 2000 Female posts in the District Police Cadre in the rank of constable in Punjab Police.

Pay Band- 2 - Pay Band 5910-20200+Grade pay Rs. 2000. The posts shall also carry other allowances as admissible under Govt. instructions/rules. The selected candidates will be included under ‘Defined Contributory Pension Scheme’ of the State Govt.

Educational qualifications: The minimum educational qualification for recruitment is 10+2 in any discipline or equivalent. It is compulsory for each candidate to have passed matriculation examination with Punjabi as compulsory/optional subject. However, in case of Ex - Servicemen the minimum educational qualification will be matriculation.

Selection shall be made by the District Recruitment Board in case of male candidates and Central recruitment Board for females’ candidates. Selection process would comprise of three phases

(A) Physical Measurement
(B) Physical Efficiency Test
(C) Interview

Application Form can be obtained by paying Rs. 100/- cash w.e.f. 27.09.2011 to 17.10.2011 on all working days during office hours (9.00 a.m. to 1.30 P.M and 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.) from the Office of Police Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police in all Districts of Punjab.

Male Candidates

Candidates may also apply on forms downloaded from the official website of the Punjab Police www.punjabpolice.gov.in such downloaded application forms should be accompanied by an Account Payee, Demand Draft amounting to Rs. 100/- in favour of “Chairman, District Recruitment Board (__________________) (Name of District for which the applicant applies) payable at _____________________ (District concerned).

Female Candidates

In case of female candidates downloaded application forms should be accompanied by an Account Payee, Demand Draft amounting to Rs. 100 in favour of Chairman-cum-IGP Zone Recruitment Board for female constables 2011 payable at (-----------------).(Zone concerned i.e Bathinda, Jallandhar, Border Amritsar & Patiala.

Walk-in Interview

Candidates with M.Sc. in Marine Geology/Applied Geology/Geology/ESRM having at least 55% (50% in case of SC/ST/PH) marks may appear for walk-in interview in the chambers of the Vice-Chancellor on 19.10.2011 at 4 pm to work as JRF in time bound research project titled “Coastal Processes and Coastal Dynamics” sponsored by the Space Application Centre (ISRO), Ahmedabad. Preference will be given for NET/SLET/GATE qualified candidates or those having research experience in RS & GIS applications.

Fellowship amount: Rs.12,000/- p.m. + HRA. Age: Less than 30 years.

Duration: One and a half years or till the end of the Project whichever is earlier.
