Job Description Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Head, Democratic Governance Unit, the Programme Analyst is responsible for management of UNDP programme in the area of governance (decentralized planning, convergence, MDGs, capacity development of officials etc.). The Programme Analyst analyzes political, social and economic trends and provides support in the formulation, management and evaluation of programme activities within his/her portfolio. He/she also provides inputs for policy advice services. The Programme Analyst supervises and leads programme support staff, coordinates activities of the projects’ staff. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the operations team, programme staff in other UN Agencies, UNDP HQs staff and Government officials, technical advisors and experts, multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UNDP programme implementation.
Qualifications Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or Governance related field

The position would work under the guidance and report to the Sub-Regional Team Leader/Regional Team Leader at the WHO-National Polio Surveillance Project. However, s/he could be posted anywhere in India as per the project needs. The SMO would be required to also report and work in close coordination with the focal person for the under-served strategy on all related issues. (only relevant to SMO's focusing on under-served issues as well).
Education Qualification/Experience:
1.MBBS with at least two years experience in implementing public health programs OR MBBS with a post graduation in Preventive and Social Medicine/Pediatrics/Public Health. Physicians with relevant post-graduate degrees/diploma will be preferred;
