One position of Research Assistant is to be filled up in an ICMR-funded research project on ‘Genetic diversity and population structure of Anopheles minimus in Northeastern India’. The project is scheduled to be terminated on 31st August 2011. The position is purely temporary, co-terminus with the project.

Qualification, Experience and Fellowship: Master’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences with specialization in genetics/ molecular biology/ bioinformatics. Candidates with research experience in molecular population genetics and/or malaria will be preferred. Monthly stipend: Rs. 19,481.00 (fixed).

Age limit: 28 years (relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per government of India rules.

The first Public Service Commission was set up on October 1st, 1926. However, its limited advisory functions failed to satisfy the people’s aspirations and the continued stress on this aspect by the leaders of our freedom movement resulted in the setting up of the Federal Public Service Commission under the Government of India Act 1935. Under this Act, for the first time, provision was also made for the formation of Public Service Commissions at the provincial level.
