1. Junior Research Fellow/(JRF): Salary: Rs 16,000/- + HRA
Essential Qualification: The candidates should be M.Sc. in Geology or, equivalent degree with 55% mark and passing of NET/GATE test and age not exceeding 28 years.

2. Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Salary Rs 18,000/- + HRA
Essential Qualification: The candidates should be M.Sc. in Geology or, equivalent degree and at least two years of post-M.Sc. research experience in relevant field, as evidenced from published papers in standard refereed journals; and age not exceeding 32 years.

3. Research Associate (RA): Salary Rs 22,000/- + HRA
Essential Qualification: The candidates should be PhD or equivalent degree in Geology in relevant field, and age not exceeding 35 years.

The Project is valid for a period of 3 years. The selected candidate will be appointed on purely temporary basis initially for a period of one year or till his service is required by the Principal Investigator or till the validity of the project, whichever is earliest.

The CDFD is an autonomous institute supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, that uniquely blends basic research in the frontier areas of modern biology with the delivery of high-quality services in DNA profiling and diagnostics for human genetic disorders. The current research themes, initiated and conducted by its Faculty investigators, include computational and structural biology, genetics and epigenetics, molecular pathogenesis, cancer and stem cell biology, cell signalling, and molecular and cellular biology. The Centre also hosts an active and vibrant Ph.D. scholars program in these areas.

The CDFD has recently established two Chairs, named the Haldane Chair and the Khorana Chair, to be occupied on a full-time basis in the Centre, by exceptionally distinguished researchers/ academicians who are internationally recognized leaders in their respective fields and who would be able to develop, undertake, and superwise research and service delivery programs of excellence in the Centre. In addition, they would be expected to mentor young faculty and students in order to enhance the academic standards and achievements of CDFD. It is now proposed to fill a vacancy that has arisen for the Khorana Chair.
