Advertisement for the post of SRF in the CSIR sponsored project

Applications are invited from Indian nationals on plain paper along with details of qualification and experience for one (01) position of senior research fellow (SRF) purely on fellowship basis for a CSIR, New Delhi, sponsored research project entitled “Experimental Investigations and Performance Optimization of High-Precision Finishing of Gears by Electro Chemical Honing (ECH) Process” being executed at this institute.

Educational qualification & Experience: (i) M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Mechanical / Production engineering with minimum 60% marks.

OR

(ii) B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering with minimum 60% marks and at least two years of post B.E./B.Tech. research experience, as evidenced from published papers in standard refereed journals.

Job description: To assist in the design and fabrication of experimental setup, design and planning of pilot, main, and confirmation experiments for ECH of different types of external gears, conducting the experiments, pre-experiment and post-experiment measurement, data entry and statistical analysis of the data, modeling and optimization of the process, and working as part of project team with PI.

Desirable: Knowledge about types, design, materials, manufacturing and metrological aspects of different types of external gears.

Duration: up to April 2012 and co-terminus with the research project scheme.

Fellowship Amount: As per the CSIR norms. At present it is Rs. 14,000/- p.m. in first two years and Rs. 15,000/- p.m. in the 3rd year of fellowship (likely to revised). In addition to stipend, the fellow will be entitled to house rent allowance (HRA) as per rules of IIT Indore, provided he/she has not been given hostel accommodation (stipend paid/payable will be treated as pay for the purpose of HRA).

Age Limit: Not more than 32 years as on the last date for submission of application. The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST, Women, Physically disabled (PD) and OBC applicants.
