Applications are invited 31.3.2011 for one post of Scientist ‘B’ in the pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400/- Purely on temporary basis for a period of one year initially for the Division of NCD in ICMR Hqrs. under (Health Research Scientist Cadre of ICMR Rules – 2007).

Essential Qualifications:

(i) MBBS degree from a recognized University.

Age Limit:

Not exceeding 35 years as on 31.3.2011. Relax-able up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard. One time Age relaxation shall also be provided to project staff working in ICMR Institute/Centres.

Desirable Qualifications:

(i) Doctorate or MD in Medicine, PSM ,ENT, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Psychiatry, Chest diseases or other fields relevant to NCD from a recognized University with first class in relevant field.

(ii) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subjects from recognized institute(s)

(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications/Data Management

The post is based at the Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Saidabad, Santoshnagar, Hyderabad-500059, Andhra Pradesh.

The responsibilities include assisting the scientists in assessing the impacts of climate change on plant pathogens and biocontrol agents with extensive molecular microbiology work. The likely duration of the project is till 31 March 2012.

Desirable Qualifications: First Class M. Sc. degree with at least two years research experience in handling entomopathogens, carrying out microbial bioassay in insects and good knowledge of computer applications.
