Applications are invited for one position of Research Associate (RA)/Senior Research Fellow (SRF)/ Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the CSIR supported research project entitled “STUDIES ON THE ROLE OF MATRIX METALLO-PROTEINASES IN INCREASED BLOOD BRAIN-BARRIER PERMEABILITY IN EXPERIMENTAL DIABETES”, sanctioned to the undersigned. The duration of the project is upto June 2014. The interview will be held on 20.09.2013 at 11:00 am in the office of the Chairperson, department of Biochemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Essential Qualifications:

JRF: M.Sc. Degree in Biochemistry/Microbiology/Life sciences/ Biotechnology with at least 55% marks. Qualified CSIR-UGC NET/GATE examination in Life Sciences.

SRF: M.Sc. Degree in Biochemistry/Microbiology/Life sciences/ Biotechnology with at least 55% marks with 2 years of research experience.

RA: Ph.D degree in Biochemistry/Microbiology/Life sciences/ Biotechnology.

Salary: JRF: Rs. 16,000/-, SRF: 18,000/-, RA: 22,000/- + HRA.

Applications are invited for the 44 vacancies of Assistant Professor in the following departments of the College in the Pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100 with Academic Grade Pay Rs. 6000/- plus usual allowances as admissible under the rules of University of Delhi from time to time.

Essential Qualification for the post of Assistant Professor:-

1. Good academic record with atleast 55% (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST or those who passed their Master’s degree prior to 19.09.1991 and hold a Ph.D degree) or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grade O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree from foreign University.

2. Candidates should have qualified the National Eligibility Test(NET) for Assistant Professors conducted by the UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC.

Note: - A relaxation of the minimum marks at the post-graduate level from 55% to 50% may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF examination conducted by the UGC/CSIR only, prior to 1989, when the minimum marks required to appear for JRF examination were 50%.

The duration of the project is three years. Salary: Rs. 16,000 + HRA for NET/GATE/ BET/ BINC qualified.

Rs. 12,000 + HRA for non-NET/GATE/ BET/ BINC qualified.

The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project.

No separate letters will be issued for the interview and no TA/DA will be provided.
