Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Examination, 2010
The Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Examination, 2010 on Sunday, the 16th May, 2010 for selecting candidates for Tier-II Examination for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/Departments/Organisations. For submission of paper application and other details, Employment News edition dated 30 January – 5 February, 2010 can be referred to. Application format and Notice available in the website either ssckkr.kar.nic.in (Exam Notification in Homepage) or ssc.nic.in (Exam Notice in Homepage) is downloadable and can be used by the candidate on or after 30th January, 2010. For applying online, please visit http://www.ssconline.nic.in on or after 4th February, 2010. The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination as stipulated in the notice.
1. Number of Vacancies: Firm number of vacancies in each category of posts will be determined in due course. However, in view of the fact that five of examinations namely – Combined Graduate Level Examination, Tax Assistant Examination, Sub-Inspectors in Central Police Organizations Examination, Statistical Investigator Grade-II Examination, and Compilers in RGI Examination have been combined into a single examination, the number of vacancies is likely to be quite large.
2. Essential Qualifications as on 2.3.2010: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with Statistics as one of the main subjects or Bachelor’s Degree with Economics/Mathematics/ Commerce with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as one of the main subjects for the post of Statistical Investigator Grade-II.
Bachelor’s Degree with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or elective subjects for the post of Compiler.
Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) or equivalent from recognized university for all other posts.
3. Fee: Rs.100/- payable through ‘Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)’ ONLY duly cancelled in the space earmarked in second page of the application with date stamp of issuing post office. (No fee is payable by women candidates and candidates belonging to SC / ST / PH / Ex.S categories. The candidates submitting on-line applications should pay requisite fee only through State Bank of India as per instructions annexed to the Notice. Note: Fee paid by other modes will be forfeited and the applications of such candidates rejected (For details, please refer to Para 7 of the Notice).
4. Scheme of Examination: Written Examination for Tier-I : (Objective Multiple Choice Type Questions carrying 200 Marks of two hours duration on (i) General Intelligence & Reasoning, (ii) General Awareness, (iii) Numerical Aptitude and (iv) English Comprehension with 50 Marks each. For syllabus and other details of Tier-I, Tier-II Examinations, Personality Test (Interview) or Skill Test and PET etc., please refer to Para Nos. 9 and 10 of the Notice.
5. Centres of Examination: Bangalore, Dharwad, Gulbarga and Mangalore in Karnataka and Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thrissur in Kerala. Examination will also be held at various other centres in different States all over India. Candidates must indicate only one of the centres mentioned in Column 2 in Para 8 of the Notice and submit application only to the concerned Regional / Sub - Regional Office under whose jurisdiction the centre selected falls. Application received in any other Regional/Sub-Regional offices will be rejected summarily.
6. Last date for receipt of applications: 2nd March, 2010.
